Oscar Mbo A No-Show At Ultimate Groove Explosion
Oscar Mbo owes Project X Events organizers in Upington; Northen Cape an amount of R110 000 after he was booked to perform and failed to show up.
The Ultimate Groove Explosion was scheduled for October 7, 2023. Oscar Mbo’s booking fee was set at R40 000. Prior to this on the 23rd June 2023 an amount of R20 000 was deposited into his account and later followed by another R20 000 that was paid on the 06th October 2023 totalling his agreed booking fee of R40 000.
Leading to event day on the 07th October 2023 travelling arrangements had to be made. On the 4th October 2023; Oscar Mbo’s team communicated with Project X Events organisers that Oscar Mbo was not gonna be able to honour their initial transport arrangement and further arrangements and or rescheduling had to be initiated.
Desperate to honour their patrons and for Ultimate Groove Explosion to be a success, Project X Events organisers entered into a negotiation with Oscar Mbo’s team and initially proposed an 11H00am to 13H00 flight from Johannesburg to Kimberly and from Kimberly to Upington with a private chartered plane. The initial offer of R40 000 then extended with R25 000.
The second proposal was for Oscar Mbo and team to take a flight departing at 13H00 and arriving at 15H00 from Johannesburg to Kimberly and chart a private plane from Kimberly to Upington with an extra R25 000 as an extended offer. Oscar Mbo turned down both of these offers and said that after careful consideration he had no choice but to cancel his attendance due to safety concern.
Oscar Mbo mentioned that upon seeing the pictures of the plane that was to be chartered from Kimberly to Upington he had safety concerns considering that the plane was propeller engine operated and it was unreasonable to expect him to sit on it for two hours. He further explained that since he is too tall it is physically impossible for him to sit on this propeller engine operated small-ass plane. Oscar Mbo furthermore said on normal circumstances his office books him a seat/s with extra leg room for his comfort.
Project X Event organisers therefore came with a third suggestion which included Oscar Mbo and his team taking a 13H00 to 15H00 flight from Johannesburg to Kimberly and a Mercedes Benz Viano Comfort mini-bus to transport him from Kimberly to Upington for the event and an additional R25 000 for the inconvenience. Oscar Mbo still turned down this offer leaving the event organisers with no choice but to demand a refund since they had exhausted all possible actions from their end.
Post the event, Project X Event organizers have been in-contact with Oscar Mbo and his team to discuss a refund and they have been met with lack of co-operation from Oscar Mbo’s team leading them to believe that Oscar Mbo is unwilling to refund what’s due to them.
Oscar Mbo is currently on vacation with his girlfriend Lerato Phasha most likely spending the money of the disgruntled event organisers who are awaiting a refund meanwhile he is spoiling himself and girlfriend with counterfeit Guccis and stuff.
